Oru Paanai is a registered charity that was established in 2008 to help alleviate hunger. More information is available at the website www.orupaanai.org.uk.
Staff
Well-Being has no permanent paid staff but does pay for technical and administrative support in Sri Lanka. It is particularly grateful for the in country support offered by Oru Paanai in Sri Lanka. They provided a team including a dedicated Administrator as well as Technical Officers who manage the construction of the wells. The recipients of the wells provide the skilled and/or manual labour.
Mission
Well-Being (Sri Lanka) has the primary objective of providing water for each family in rural Wanni by constructing dug out wells or bore hole tube wells for their personal use and for cultivation of fruits and vegetables for home consumption and for the local market. Thereby helping to alleviate poverty and create sustainable livelihoods.
